Cruise on the Vaal River at Boardwalk River Lodge at Douglas for the Love Dahlia Festival. Desert-like landscape near Pella in the Northern Cape. Letaba Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park is still closed due to flood damage. The last record for this much rain was in 1947. Victoria-West Dam, and it was mentioned that the last time the dam overflowed was in the year 2012 (14 years ago). The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
A cold front will sweep across the Cape overnight into today, bringing light showers to the south-west and strong westerly winds along the south coast. Thunderstorms are expected to persist in the north-east, with scattered storms over Limpopo Province and Mpumalanga Province, and potentially severe storms in parts of the Eastern Cape Province. The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms in the northern interior of the Eastern Cape Province, cautioning about possible localised flooding, hail, and damaging winds. Meanwhile, hot and humid conditions will create extremely uncomfortable weather in the eastern regions of KwaZulu-Natal Province.
